JOB losses are 'almost certain' and West Somerset Council will be 'hit hard' the district council has said in response to this week’s Spending Review.
The review announced Local Government grants will be reduced by 7.1% for each of the next four years.
A council spokeswoman said they are now analysing the potential broad impacts of the funding cuts from 2011 to 2015.
Meanwhile, Exmoor National Park said they are expecting their main source of funding Defra to be hit by the spending review.
The authority's Chief Executive Nigel Stone has said Defra, who provide around 80% of the authorities funding through the National Park Grant, has indicated the park authority need to plan for reductions of up to 30% over four years.
Further details of West Somerset Council’s response to the spending review are yet to be announced.
