UNISON members dressed in skeleton outfits outside Taunton County Hall’s main entrance this morning in protest against the County Council’s budget cuts.
The union representatives donned the costumes and displayed banners at 11am protesting against ‘skeleton services’ and demanding a fairer approach to dealing with Somerset workers.
Each ‘skeleton’ bore the name of a profession affected by the cuts, such as ‘Librarian’ and ‘Teaching Assistant’.
UNISON will now hold a protest march through Taunton with NHS, teaching, TDBC and RMT employees on November 6.
