THE Olympics and Diamond Jubilee are just two of the themes that will be on display at the annual flower show in Wiveliscombe this weekend.
Organisers hope to see some exotic entries when the show kicks off at Kingsmead School on Saturday, August 18, from 2pm.
Two new trophies will be competed for following the deaths of two flower show members. One is for the best photographer in the children’s section, in memory of president Peter Langdon.
Another award is up for grabs in memory of former secretary Jenny Donnelly. This will be awarded to the best specimen rose in Section A, Amateurs.
Secretary Brian Jolly said: “We should see some quite exotic entries.
“To celebrate their 20th anniversary, the Model Railway will be present again, as will the usual attractions – plus a few new ones, with a focus|on local food, crafts and rural interests.”
