A MAN digging in his garden in Minehead yesterday evening got into a spot of bother when he accidentally cut through a gas pipe.
At just after 5pm the man called the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to report what had happened in a garden of a property in Periton Lane.
Two fire engines from Minehead attended the scene and stemmed the flow of gas from a low pressure gas main using an environmental pack.
A Fire Service spokesman said: "Crews monitored the gas levels in the area using a gas detection monitor and stayed on the scene until the arrival of the Gas Board."
