WITH London hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games, children at a Wellington nursery have been learning to welcome visitors in many different languages.
Blackdown Children's Day Nursery has erected a special welcome sign on its front gate to greet guests in English and 14 other languages.
Nursery manager Trudy Wilton said: "It was one thing researching the languages and spelling them correctly, but also trying to learn the pronunciations was really challenging.
"I am not sure who found it more difficult, our children or our staff!"
The languages are French, Afrikaans, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Welsh (Celtic), Turkish, German, Romanian, Polish, Gaelic, Italian, and Mandarin.
