PRIMARY school pupils showed a group of VIPs the ropes at the official launch of a new activity in Taunton’s Vivary Park.
The youngsters from St George’s RC Primary School were let loose on the Vivary High Ropes Course as Taunton Deane Mayor Cllr Terry Hall, councillors and Tone Leisure board members cut the ribbon.
Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne couldn’t resist having a go to test his head for heights.
Tone Leisure’s commercial director, Joel Chapman said: “The 5m high lower ropes, 10m climbing wall, two totem pole climbs, Jacob’s Ladder and Gladiator Challenge, and team development have been in use since the Jubilee weekend.
“Just the higher ropes area was delayed because of flooding in the park.”
Mr Browne said: “This latest attraction to Taunton can only help to bring visitors to the town and this in turn should help the local economy.
“With the refurbished Museum of Somerset opening just over a year ago and the new play equipment in parks such as Vivary, French Weir and the new Viridor play area, Taunton’s offering many different activities to local families.”
