THE Somerset Rural Music School held its summer concert at Heathfield Community School in Taunton, providing a fitting climax to a successful year which has seen a significant increase in the number of pupils attending the school.

Congratulations to all who took part and especially three pupils: Tom Jordon, who has been awarded a specialist music place at Bristol Cathedral Choir School; Freddie Lindsey-Coombs, who has been accepted as a chorister at Wells Cathedral School; and Zaki Aladin, a pupil of Feroze Pomeroy, who achieved the unusually high distinction mark of 140 when he took his Grade Two piano examination this term.

The music school’s new term begins on Saturday, September 15 – contact Michael Riches on 01823-412416 for further information.
