FABULOUS food, music and street entertainment will be on offer at the Wellington Food Fair this weekend.
Record numbers of people are expected at Saturday's (September 1) popular festival, which will see farmers, traders and other food manufacturers show off their finest produce.
Last year, 14,000 people from Wellington and beyond flooded the streets to see what the popular event had to offer, and organisers are hoping for the same response from people this year.
Donna Munson, chairman of the Food Fair Committee, said: “Having tried various dates in the calendar and following a survey of attendees, stall holders and shopkeepers, a Saturday in early September in the High Street has proved to be the most popular.
“I am delighted the Farmers Market are taking a more integral role with the fair which will provide greater variety of produce for visitors and make it bigger and better than ever.”
As well as food stalls, the town will be buzzing with entertainment for all ages from 10am to 3pm.
The Conservative Club is opening its doors to non-members, a bouncy castle will be blown up, the Wellington Silver Band will perform and Wellington Rotary Club is running a raffle in aid of Shelterbox and the Polio Plus campaign.
