THE Olympic Games may have ended... but the legacy is just beginning.
Dozens of excited families went to a ‘have-a-go day’ organised by Wellington shooter Abbey Burton to try their hand at sports they might not otherwise have tried.
Youngsters and adults tested their air rifle, clay shooting and archery skills at Wrangway, near Wellington.
Abbey said: “It was about continuing the interest in those Olympic sports and giving adults and young kids involved in trying activities that may not have tried before.”
Hands-on youngsters were given expert instruction from Abbey, GB clay shooting World Cup winner, and Ed Ling, fresh from London 2012.
Abbey added: “It was a great opportunity to have a go.
“After all, this is how the Olympic champions started off and finding what they’re good at.”
