ABBIE Terrett, a staff nurse at the Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital, has won a prestigious prize for showing compassion and skill when working with patients with long-term care needs.
Abbie was nominated for the award by her lecturers at Plymouth University, from where she graduated.
She said “It was a surprise, but also really rewarding.
“I enjoyed the course and worked hard, but it’s great to now be on the ward at the Nuffield helping patients.
“There’s a really good team here and I’m continuing to learn a lot.”
Joy Dyer, matron at the Nuffield, said: “We’re all very proud of Abbie.
“As well as successfully completing her nursing course she has done incredibly well to get this award.”
