CHAOS was caused yesterday (October 17) after two cars collided on the A358 near Sampford Brett.
The road was closed by police for investigation and clean-up after the incident at about 2.45pm. Motorists had to negotiate traffic diversions around the surrounding village lanes until it reopened at 6.30pm.
Ambulance and fire crews attended the scene and two casualties were taken to hospital, although their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
There was significant damage caused to both the blue Citroen Saxo and the Mercedes involved.
Witnesses to the incident are asked to call police on 101.
