A GRANDMOTHER who loved to travel celebrated her 105th birthday yesterday (Wednesday).
Enid Zelle, right, was joined by family members at the Manor Care Home for a lowkey birthday celebration.
She lived in North Curry since the 1950s before moving into the home 2½ years ago.
She lived with her Russian husband, Valya, and has two children, Nicholas Zelle, 70, and Valerie Constable, 68, and two grandchildren, Sasha Constable and Rickie Constable.
She was also the mixed doubles tennis partner of Wimbledon champion Jaroslav Drobny, a member of North Curry WI and a ‘pillar’ of the church.
Nicholas said: “She used to be very outgoing and gregarious, and despite being in a home now she’s still very sociable.”
