TWO men charged with the murder of Paul Retallick, who was found dead in Huish Episcopi last month, will face trial next year.
Mr Retallick (right), who police said lived in the Taunton area, was found at a property in Irish Way on the Old Kelways Estate on the evening of September 16.
Father and son Michael McGinty, 55, of Peony Road, Langport, and Lee McGinty, 25, of no fixed address, are jointly charged with his murder between Saturday, September 15, and Monday, September 17.
Their preliminary hearing took place on Tuesday at Bristol Crown Court without the pair being present.
Their plea and case management hearing is also at Bristol Crown Court on December 5, and a 12-day trial has been scheduled for March 4.
A post-mortem revealed that Mr Retallick died from serious head injuries.
Family and friends celebrated his life at his funeral last Friday at Yeovil Cremetorium with donations going to the Bristol Head Injuries Unit.
Mr Retallick leaves three children – Sophie, 17, who is pregnant with his first grandchild, Kory, eight, and Layla, two.
