A man in his 40s has died at the Glastonbury Festival after a "medical incident" this morning (Sunday, June 25).

Avon and Somerset Police responded to the incident on a popular footpath known as the old railway line at the festival site at around 4 am.

The local police released a statement addressing the situation, telling the public: “Shortly before 4 am today emergency services responded to a medical incident involving a man in his 40s at Glastonbury Festival.

“The incident happened on a footpath known as the old railway line.

“Sadly, the man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are carrying out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.”

This comes as revellers across the country descend on Worthy Farm for a weekend of music and performances from some of the biggest names.

Police say there have been 107 reported crime-related incidents at Glastonbury 2023

This morning, police said that there had been 107 reported crime-related incidents and that 33 arrests had been made at Glastonbury 2023 so far.

The force said that there had been 24 thefts, 19 drug-related offences and 17 cases of violence and sexual assault against other festival-goers.

It added that there had been three reported instances of people carrying offensive weapons with one public order offence, one fraud and one burglary also being reported.

Glastonbury will end tonight (Sunday, June 25) with Sir Elton John closing the festival.
