Stella Artois is launching a Wimbledon themed beer - featuring the tournament’s classic strawberries and cream flavours.

The limited-edition blush-pink beer boasts a velvety, nitro-infused foam reminiscent of fresh cream.

Served chilled over ice and finished with a fresh strawberry garnish, the beer offers a lighter, quintessentially British twist on the original.

According to its makers, fresh strawberry leads the aroma with a soft, slightly sweet creaminess.

The 3.4 per cent ABV beer will be served on draught at bars on site at the tennis tournament, but fans not lucky enough to get their hands on tickets will also be able to buy it in Sainsbury's and Co-ops across the UK.

While select pubs in the Wimbledon area will also be serving the drink.

The tournament kicks off on June 29th, with British favourites Jack Draper, Emma Raducanu, Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter set to take to the famous grass courts.

Italy’s Jannik Sinner returns to defend his title after overcoming Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz last year to win his first Wimbledon.

But two-time champion Alcaraz will not be back to bid for the title again after being forced to pull out due to a wrist injury which also ruled him out of the French Open.

While Poland’s Iga Świątek, who triumphed over the United States’ Amanda Anisimova in the women’s final, is hoping to defend her women’s singles crown.

Jessie Landers, from Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I which is behind the new drink, said: “Strawberries and cream is at the heart of the quintessential Wimbledon experience.

“By launching Strawberries & Cream Flavoured Lager, we are giving fans the opportunity to savour this tradition in new and unexpected ways.

“With each year of our partnership, we are proud to celebrate the traditions that make The Championships truly special.”

An estimated 283,730 portions of strawberries and cream are eaten at Wimbledon each year.

The tradition is believed to date back to the 19th century, when the tournament first began and has gone on to become a staple of the Wimbledon experience.

It comes as demand for fruit-flavoured beers has risen, making it one of the fastest growing trends in the category, particularly among younger drinkers seeking lighter, lower-alcohol options.

Fans heading to The Championships can also look out for the return of Stella Artois’ limited-edition white cans, paying homage to the tournament's famous white dress code.
