A MAN stole a young woman's gold necklace in a violent attack in the early hours at the weekend.

Police area for witnesses and information into the assault in Stars Lane, Yeovil, between 2am and 4am on Sunday (October 23).

The victim reported the incident to police on Tuesday (October 25).

The woman, in her 20s, told officers a man approached her and was verbally abusive.

He then punched her and pulled the chain and pendant from her neck.

She described the man as cleanshaven and wearing a white T-shirt.

Officers are appealing for ayone who was in Stars Lane at around that time to come forward.

They would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam or other footage of the incident.
