HUNDREDS of people in Taunton Deane and West Somerset are likely to find themselves voting in a different Parliamentary constituency at the next General Election.
The Boundary Commission has drawn up its latest proposals for levelling up the size of MPs' constituencies in England.
Under the plans, each MP will represent between 69,724 and 77,062 electors.
Consultations are underway and a final report and recommendations will be made by next July.
Under the changes, Bishops Lydeard, Oake, Cotford St Luke and Wiveliscombe would be removed from Taunton and included as part of a new Tiverton and Minehead constituency.
Norton Fitzwarren and Staplegrove will remain grouped with Taunton following a local outcry at plans to include them in the Tiverton and Minehead area.
It was decided the links of Norton-based 40 Commando Royal Marines and the closeness of Staplegrove to the county town justifies keeping them in the Taunton constituency.
Although Wellington will remain in the Taunton constituency, the Boundary Commission is not minded to include its name in the constituency's title.
If approved, the proposals would see Minehead split from the current Bridgwater and West Somerset constituency to form part of a cross-county border constituency.
Joining Minehead in a patch covering parts of Somerset and Devon would be Watchet and Williton, along with the Hinkley Point C site.
Bridgwater would be grouped with Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge.
The Frome constituency would include Frome, Bruton, Midsomer Norton and Radstock.
Glastonbury and Somerton would include both towns, Castle Cary, Langport, Street and Wincanton.
Wells and Mendips would feature Wells, Axbridge, Cheddar, Shepton Mallet and Yatton.
Yeovil would be made up of Yeovil, Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster.
