LAST weekend at the Southwest finals in Bath, Accelerate Trampoline Clubs’ competition squad had an excellent finish to the regional season.
Fifteen bouncers completed amazing routines on trampoline and double mini trampoline, breaking their own personal bests and returning with two gold, two silver and a bronze medal.
The squad has grown from two entering at the end of last season to seventeen entries this year. Accelerate is also home to GB junior athlete Jessica Vickery, who will be representing GB in the European championships in Portugal later this year.
Jacob said: “I am unbelievably proud of the club and all the squad who worked so hard so get those amazing results in Bath. I would like to thank the whole Accelerate team of coaches, parents and volunteers who make competitions like this possible.”
Accelerate opened its doors to new bouncers less than three years ago after Wellington resident Jacob Turner fulfilled his lifetime dream to open his own trampoline club.
At the age of 25 he is the youngest high-performance coach in the country and is now head coach and director of his own trampoline club.
Over that time, the club has grown to over 500 members and at the end of last year they moved into their first unit on the Westpark industrial estate where they run classes in trampoline and gymnastics.
They also run children’s parties and the ever-popular toddler drop-in sessions which have been hugely successful with the parents of small children in Wellington and Taunton.
Exciting news just released this week from the club is that they have now moved into their second unit, their new base on Junction 27.
The unit covers 10,000 square feet with ample parking and is situated just off the M5 junction towards Willand.
It will provide exciting opportunities for the people of Honiton, Cullompton, Exeter and surrounding areas.
The squad will base their training there, and this week will see the start of recreational classes in trampoline, double mini trampoline, cheer, parkour and lots more to yet be announced.
