Taunton School's U15 girls team celebrated winning the county Lady Taverners indoor cricket final last week.
“Girls’ cricket is going from strength to strength at Taunton School,” said Mr Pete Sanderson, Taunton School Director of Cricket.
“Our strong cricketing heritage and our top team of coaches means that everyone has the opportunity to play the game and everyone – whatever their level - has a chance to find their exceptional.”
The Cricketer’s Schools Guide 2024 named Taunton School as one of the top 100 cricketing schools in the country and Taunton Prep was placed in the top 50.
Taunton School is one of only a handful of schools to have both senior and prep schools mentioned.
Alongside the girls’ successes, five other Taunton School players went through months of rigorous training before joining of the Somerset County U15 side on a tour to Sri Lanka last month.
All pupils at Taunton School are introduced to cricket and have many opportunities to progress in the sport, working with school’s coaching team which includes former England player Marcus Trescothick.
