TRULL rower Becky Wilde and her partner Mathilda Hodgkins Byrne have reached the final in the women's double sculls at this year's Olympics.
Wilde, 26, and Hodgkins Byrne, 29, competed in the semi-finals this morning (Tuesday, July 30).
Due to the Team GB pair finishing in second place, they have been placed in the ‘Final A’ race.
This means Wilde and Hodgkins Byrne will face Romania again; one of the favourites and the team who pipped them to win the semi-final by less than half a second.
Another favourite to win this year’s double women’s scull is New Zealand, a team that is in Team GB’s final.
New Zealand beat Wilde and Hodgkins Byrne’s time in their first race at the Olympics on July 27.
The other nations in Team GB’s final race are Norway, Netherlands and France.
The other final race (Final B) consists of some strong nations, including Italy, Ireland, Czechia, Australia, China, and the United States.
Becky is now just one race away from receiving a medal and will compete for one last time in two days, with both finals held on August 1.
To see all the action unfold and to have a chance to see Team GB win gold this year, you can watch Becky on BBC One at 11am on August 1, with Olympics action from 8am.
