Somerset bowler, Alfie Ogborne will join Kent on loan for the next two rounds of Vitality County Championship matches.

The 21-year-old left-armer, who is currently contracted to Somerset until the end of the 2026 season, played his way through the Somerset Age Group system and was a part of the Club’s Emerging Player Programme before joining the Potential Somerset Player Programme in the winter of 2020.

Alfie made his full Somerset List A debut against Durham in the Royal London Cup in 2022 and has gone on to make a further 11 appearances for the County.

Regarding this loan agreement, SCCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “We feel that this opportunity suits the requirements of both Alfie and the Club at this time.

"Alfie has an important role to play for us during the tail end of the season, and playing competitive First XI cricket, which is something that is not currently guaranteed for him here, will be important for his development and will also ensure that he maintains the match sharpness and game fitness that could be crucial for us upon his return to the Cooper Associates County Ground.”
