THE 'Voice of Somerset' for the BBC over many years is to become a patron of Somerset Day
Clinton Rogers has been a journalist since the age of 16 and has covered almost every conceivable story in Somerset and further afield.
Never afraid to challenge and probe, Clinton, who previously worked on the County Gazette, has always been a passionate advocate for his home county.
He said: "I was deeply honoured to be asked to be a patron of Somerset Day.
"I've always felt it was an inspired idea to promote our beautiful county which, in my opinion, is too often undersold.
"Somerset truly is a great county to live, work and play in and anything I can do to shout about that I will."
Clinton joins existing Somerset Day patrons Anne Maw, the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset; The Duke of Somerset; the Rt Rev Ruth Worsley, Bishop of Taunton; Michael Eavis and Edward Bayntun-Coward.
Nigel Muers-Raby, founder of Somerset Day, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Clinton as a patron.
"He shares our belief in his desire to support Somerset’s communities, organisations and independent businesses.
"We are confident his passion for his home county will inspire others to celebrate all we have to offer in Somerset."
