AN American motorist has been stopped by Avon and Somerset Police's roads policing unit for driving without insurance.
They were pulled over after an Automatic Number Plate Recognition hit revealed the insurance ran out in October 2021.
A spokesperson for the unit said: "The driver been in the UK on and off for 20 years, but was still driving on his American licence.
"They applied for a UK provisional when they first came into the country but only used it for ID."
The incident was part of Operation Tutelage, a national policing initiative to reduce uninsured driving.
