THE director of sport and cricket captain at a school in Taunton have collected a top award at Lord's cricket ground.
Tom Bell and skipper Jonty represented Queen's College at The Forty Club 66th annual dinner.
They collected the West District title at the event in the players' room hosted by Forty Club president Johnny Barclay, with speakers former Kent and England cricketer Richard Ellison, and former Hampshire captain, commentator, and MCC president Mark Nicholas.
Jonty, who also picked up a medal for his overall performance at Queen’s, said: "It was a great experience to go to Lord's and see the famous Long Room and Writing Room, and it was an honour to watch several speeches from Mark Nicholas and Richard Ellison.
"It was a wonderful experience all round, and I was so proud to be involved."
The Forty Club’s aim is to "to take cricket to the schools" by offering state and public schools, and youth teams fixtures against experienced cricketers.
