Taunton St Andrews made the long trip to Wiltshire for their opening match of the season on Saturday.
They faced newly promoted Burbage and Easton Royal, who ran out the winners by 37 runs.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Burbage found themselves 50 for five, one of the wickets to fall being that of former Somerset favourite Pete Trego, who was bowled by Lloyd Alley for one.
However, a sixth wicket partnership of 77 between Dellon Peiris, who remained unbeaten on 71, and Daniel Wootton, who hit 39 before being removed by off spinner Archie Vaughan, enabled the hosts to reach 183 for eight from their 50 overs.
Vaughan ended with three wickets for 35 from his 10 overs while Kazi Szymanski took two for 20.
When they replied, Vaughan and Jay Terry added 31 for the first wicket before the former was out for 18.
Terry remained to see the total onto 78 when he was fourth wicket to fall having made a patient 23 off 73 balls.
Skipper Josh Thomas then took on the anchor role, but wickets tumbled at the opposite end until he was out for 14 off 45 balls with the score on 117 for seven.
Jack Harding then made a run a ball 16 but it was not enough to see Saints home as they were bowled out for 146 in 45.3 overs.
Trego took two for 16, while James Lavis and Peiris both claimed three scalps apiece.
The only other senior team to play on Saturday were the Saints BXI who travelled to play Uphill Castle Third XI in Division Seven of the Somerset Cricket League..
Batting first, Saints were all out for 43 in 18.4 overs of which skipper Nigel Conteras scored 17 while William Neale made 15, the pair adding 32 for the ninth wicket together.
Uphill Castle reached their target without loss of wicket.
This weekend TSA First XI are at home to Bishopston in WEPL Premier One, while the Seconds travel to play at Lympsham and Belvedere in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League.
