There were mixed fortunes for the Pistols and the Muskets in the South West and Wales Baseball League at Taunton Baseball Club this weekend.
The Pistols hosted the Bristol Buccaneers, the league leaders, which resulted in defeat.
While for the Muskets, on the other hand, they enjoyed sweeping victories against the New Forest Knights.
The Muskets won their double header 27-2 and 20-15, welcoming back their ace pitcher Andres Bianco from injury.
His triumphant return was emphasised by a dominating display on the mound in game one.
The team also demonstrated their batting prowess, with Chris Cranmer (2), Fumihito Yasuhara and Tom Poole hitting four home runs.
Game two was a closer affair, but the team secured the sweep, in part due to strong relief pitching from Jake Palmer and a finishing double play.
Muskets manager, Chris Chantrey said: "It was a brilliant team performance down here, against a good side in the (New Forest) Knights.
"It was great to see Andres back after a long lay off and the home runs capped a very good day."
For his successful return and performance, Andres Bianco, alongside Chris Cranmer - who achieved four hits and six RBI in addition to his home runs - was selected as the shared Tricky Cider MVP for the Muskets.
In contrast to the Muskets' fortunes, the Pistols were defeated by the Severn Division leaders, the Bristol Buccaneers, 23-3 and 20-0.
The home side struggled, achieving minimal hits and scoring just three runs in game one.
The second game continued in a similar fashion, with only a few hits for the home side.
James Wheatley secured the Tricky Cider MVP prize for the Pistols.
His award recognised his outstanding outfield assist to throw out a runner at home plate, amidst the difficult games against the Bristol Buccaneers.
The South West and Wales Baseball League action continues next weekend.
The Pistons will journey to Cardiff to play against the Merlins, while it is a rematch of last season's Wessex Division playoff as the Muskets host the Weston Jets.
