CONGRATULATIONS to Taunton and Pickeridge junior member Cooper Baker, who achieved every golfer's dream when he got a hole-in-one on 12a – a par 3 hole – last week.
He has only recently started playing in 18-hole competitions and his handicap is coming down nicely as the season progresses.
Keith Wiggins was the winner in Division One of Saturday’s medal round with a nett 66, one ahead of Kaan Felton who was second on countback from Roger Wallbutton after both carded 67.
The second flight was won by Martyn Brown with 67, one ahead of second placed Ian Sutcliffe, while Adam Huxtable was third on countback ahead of Steve Walker after both scored 69.
Three players returned to the clubhouse on 66 in Division Three so once again countback had to come into play, following which it was Matt Gaskin who was first, Neil Cocks second and Pete Copland third.
Nigel Gridley was the winner of Sunday’s Stableford with 39 points. Two players returned with 37 points but after countback it was James Watts who was second just ahead of third placed Richard Trueman.
On Tuesday, the Ladies played a qualifying Stableford at the end of which it was was Berni Hatcher who was the winner in the top division with 32 points. Terina Parker was second on countback from Jane Ledsham after both scored 31.
Lady Captain Emma Smith was the winner in Division Two with 36 points, two ahead of second placed Margaret Nation, while Ginnie Rhodes was third on 33.
Golfers travelled from Wales, Oxfordshire, Cornwall, Devon, South Wiltshire, Dorset and all corners of Somerset, to participate in T&P Senior Men’s Open, when a field of 158 players enjoyed superb course conditions followed by excellent food and camaraderie in the Clubhouse.
