Taunton Deane failed in their search for a first win of the WEPL Premier Two season following a trip to Congresbury.
Despite a strong 155 from Harry Smith and contributions from Ali Hamid and Nick Pepper, their final total of 253 was insufficient.
The Deane were initially encouraging as the Congresbury top three were dismissed for merely 21 runs.
The game story, however, lay in the extras and the prowess of the Congresbury middle order.
Matthew Thomson, 87 not out, and Tim Sugumar, 109 not out, steadily increased their batting, with only Josh Nelson keeping his economy below 5 runs per over.
Congresbury clinched the win with 12 overs to spare.
Next Saturday, Taunton Deane face table toppers Downend at Convent Field.
