Fundraising events are vital for animal rescue centres, writes Jacqui Budd for St Giles Animal Welfare.
They provide income for care of the animals, they raise awareness and engage support.
Could you organise an event to help raise funds for the animals in the care of St Giles?
A coffee morning, auction, abseil, or car boot sale: the list is endless.
It can be hard work but the satisfaction gained from raising funds makes it worthwhile.
Speaking of fundraisers for St Giles: if you like a quiz there is one happening on 30th November at Taunton’s Brewhouse Theatre.
Doors open at 6pm and Taunton Rock Choir will be serenading people as they arrive.
Quiz starts at 7pm sharp.
Teams of 4 are required and tickets need to be purchased in advance by contacting wardenj@outlook.com or by calling 07809578555. There will be a raffle; prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams, and real wooden spoons for the team that comes last - it’s taking part that counts!
It was held last year, great fun was had by all and a whopping £1,300 raised, thanks to those who generously supported it by allowing use of facilities, attending, donating prizes and assisting with preparations.
Free on Saturday 30th?
Come and help raise funds for St Giles Animal Welfare.
The bar will be open!!
Vinceny
Vinceny is a sweet, shy puss who arrived at St Giles via the RSPCA.
A senior of 12 years old, Vinceny has an abundance of love ready to give.
Initially timid, he soon relaxes with the help of treats.
He loves being brushed (see video on his adoption page).
He could live with another cat, but not one who is too energetic.
Winding down now, he would need a calm friend.
He has never lived with children but could share a home with an older calm child of 14+. A dog-free home is required.
Vinceny longs for a home where he can settle and feel safe for the rest of his days.
See stgilesanimalwelfare.co.uk/adoptions/vinceny for a cute video of him.
