JAZMIN Hosgood from Taunton rode her father’s horse to victory at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show.

Jazmin, who is 20, guided Rubins Star Attraction to success in the riding horse hack final in the SEIB Search ForA Star Championship.

The Search For A Star finals have become one of the most popular attractions at the show and represent a dream come true for the amateur riders who have qualified for the six classes.

The Championship is the culmination of a week’s competition and the atmosphere was electric as the winners entered the International Arena for the closely-fought finale.

Rubin, a four-year-old bay gelding, is by Diptford Star Attraction and was bred by Sandra Rogers in Devon.

Jasmin and Rubin have enjoyed a successful year, coming second to Jayne Webber in the Open riding horse class at the British Riding Horse show. Jazmin aims to compete in working hunter classes next season.

As well as teaching Rubin to jump over the winter, she will also be riding in point to points, following in her father’s footsteps.

She said: “I have always wanted to ride at the Horse of the Year Show. I have ridden at the Royal International but dad always sold the ponies before we could get here.”
