Chard Reserves completed a Devon and Exeter League, Division One double over Wellington Reserves with a 2-0 away win.

That said Wellington could easily have drawn both games against the league leaders and they must take that as a positive going forward as they sit in sixth place with 13 points from nine games.

Playing uphill in the first half Wellington did well against the gradient with full-backs James Rowley and Jamie Fleet supplying good ball for Oli Nott and Jack Bryant.

The game was even-stevens when a high ball was not cleared adequately and it looped into the Wellington goal.

In the second half, playing down the hill suited Wellington and Nott was busy making and receiving good chances.

Chard doubled their lead after a mazy run upfield and this sealed the win for them.

Although Wellington threw on all three subs - Jake Nichol, Nathan Thomas and Leon Collins - the visitors left with a 2-0 win.

Wellington entertain Witheridge next Saturday (2.15pm).

Wellington: Chris McKee, James Rowley (c), Jamie Fleet, Nick Bull, Adam Cook, Sam Bryant, Adam Dawe, Conor Bryant, Jack Bryant, Oli Nott, Joe Enticott Subs - Jake Nichol, Nathan Thomas and Leon Collins.
