QPR boss Harry Redknapp was full of praise for Yeovil Town after his side maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 win at Huish Park.
Redknapp, widely regarded as one of the most respected English managers in football, says Glovers fans have reason to be optimistic despite succumbing to their fourth straight home league defeat.
He said: “Yeovil put us under a lot of pressure late on, they never gave up and fair play to Gary [Johnson].
“They gave it everything at the end and they were very unlucky.
“I've been around long enough to know that you rarely come to places like this and turn teams over.
“Gary has done a great job. It was like a cup tie to them. The crowd got behind the team and made it like that.”
A controversial Charlie Austin penalty 15 minutes from time extended the Hoops’ lead at the top of the Sky Bet Championship, but Redknapp admitted he had goalkeeper Robert Green to thank for helping his side to a sixth straight clean sheet.
Green, who has 12 England caps, was in fine form to deny Joel Grant, Liam Davis and Joseph Ralls.
His heroics mean Yeovil are yet to register a goal at home this term.
Former Tottenham manager Redknapp, 66, added: “Yeovil created chances and we stopped passing.
“The longer it went on the more they got on top second half - they played ever so well.
"We defended well again and dealt with a lot of set plays late on. Richard Dunne was immense, and so was Rob Green.
“Yeovil will give anybody a game here. They were unlucky against Reading; it's not an easy place to come to.
“They've got a good manager who knows what he's doing and it's tough.”
The Glovers travel to basement club Bolton this Saturday (September 28) looking to climb out of the relegation zone.
