SOMERSET won their first LV= Championship Division One match of the season when they completed an innings and 11 run victory against leaders Sussex today.
Marcus Trescothick scored his first century since 2012 in Somerset’s innings of 372 before the hosts were bowled out for 142 and 219.
Resuming the final day on 162-6, Sussex lost Chris Jordan early before Lewis Gregory took the key wicket of captain Ed Joyce (93).
Peter Trego (2-45) then removed James Anyon to put Somerset on the brink. Gregory (4-48) wrapped up the victory, bowling Jon Lewis to end with match figures of 9-97.
