THE Wyvern Open brought together a strong field of professionals all competing for prize money and world ranking points.
The draw saw a first round clash between Taunton players Luke Bishop and Jonathan Taubert.
Having played each other many times and trained together, it was clear that both players knew each others game exceptionally well.
The match easily surpassed the hour mark and eventually emerged with Bishop winning 14-12, 10-12, 11-9, 14-16, 11-7.
Bishop went on to beat world number 314 Richard King 3-0 in the quarter final before losing to London-based David Wardle in the semi-final.
Wardle went on to win the championship 3-0 in the final with a packed crowd enjoying the high standard of squash.
The event was sponsored by Cube Direct.
