TAUNTON and Pickeridge hosted their Remembrance Day 4 Ball Better Ball competition in sunshine and good conditions.
At the end of the competition it was Rob Darvell and Ben Coomber were the winners with 43 points.
Three pairs returned with 42 points so the next three places had to be decided on countback.
In the end second place was claimed by Alistair Johnston and Steve Coomber (Ben Coomber’s Dad), who edged in front of third place Jon Hutt and Tom Small, while fourth spot went to Adrian and Andy Jones .
In the Ladies Section the Summer Eclectic Salver presented for the best return in all medal and Stableford competitions between April 1 and September 30 was won Carolyn Stait.
In the Silver Division, it was Fiona Lovell who claimed the top spot on countback from Janet Kingston after both scored 49.
The Bronze Division was won by Heather Crump with nett 50, after which three ladies scored 52.
Following countback it was Sue Walsh who was second, Katy Davies was third while Judy Powell was fourth.
The Birdie Tree, (the most birdies recorded by a Silver Division player), was won by Carolyn Stait, and the Par Bar, (most pars recorded by a Bronze Division player), went to Patsy Morgan.
The Sale Cup (match-play knock-out competition for players handicaps 0 - 20) was won by Carolyn Stait with the runner-up being Lennox Heath The Sully Cup, a match-play knock-out competition for players handicaps 21 to 36 was won by Margaret Farley. Runner-up was Katy Davies.
Unfortunately the weather prevented T&P Ladies from playing on Tuesday.
OAKE Manor results: men’s Seniors Stableford, November 10: Division One: 1st Peter Swann 39 points, 2nd John Beer 37 points after countback, 3rd to S Butcher 37 points, 4th Bernhard Reed 36 points. Division Two: 1st Frank Davies 43 points, 2nd Nigel Finch 37 points after countback, 3rd J H Matthews 37 points, 4th Edmund Hennessy 36 points.
