TAUNTON Titans will be looking to get themselves back on track tomorrow after two straight defeats – something that hasn’t happened since the 2012/2013 season.
Titans visit fifth-placed Chinnor in Thame, Oxfordshire with a 3pm kick-off. After playing the teams top two teams in National League 2 (S) in consecutive weeks, this Saturday’s fixture promises to be just as tough.
Chinnor have spent money over the season recruiting several players who were playing at Championship and Premiership level as well as the former Taunton try-scoring machine Reuben Haile who joined them from last season’s league winners, Hartpury College.
With a tough fixture ahead of them, Titans’ coaches are hoping they will be able to select from a stable side but will definitely be without a number of players.
These include back row Charlie Walker-Blair, who injured his hand in the Barbarians v Combined Services midweek game, prop Jake Woolmore, who picked up an injury in training, and winger Jack Claydon who was injured in the Dings Crusaders game last month.
With the ever-growing injury list Taunton have managed to secure the services of prop Kieran Davies, on loan from Exeter Chiefs.
Davies played for the Titans in the 2012/2013 season before moving on to the Cornish Pirates.
With his game time limited so far this season it benefited all parties for Davies to come back to Hyde Park and push for a starting place in the Titans’ line up.
