TEAMS from King’s College and Queen’s College will be competing in the national schools cross country championships in Newquay tomorrow (Saturday).
King’s College U-16 girls’ came third in the recently-held South-West regional finals.
This year there was a record entry of 1,529 teams from 529 schools, so for both schools to make it into the last 24 in their age groups is something that they can be really proud of.
King’s can be particularly proud considering the team was made up of younger girls.
Molly Smith was second overall, Harriet Fox was fourth, Charlotte Enright 26th, Flora Keeling 30th and Eliza Chapple 55th.
All the girls except Charlotte Enright are part of the King’s College Under-14 team that won the regional hockey championships, so they are a very talented year group.
n QUEENS will be represented by both their Under-16 and Under-14 girls teams who both came second in the regional qualifiers.
In the Under-16s Amelia Vance came third, Sophie Jones 9th, Kate Shapland 17th and Tilly Fender 28th.
Rebecca Brown led home the Under-14 team in seventh and was followed by Connie Hickman (8th), Fay Graham (24th), Verity Vance (27th), Kirsten Hill (33rd) and Jo Keogan (37th).
The boys finished sixth in the qualifiers.
