TAUNTON Blades Life Member, Jane Hutchison, won double gold in the women’s sabre at the Veterans’ Commonwealth Games held in Largs, Scotland.
At the end of a long day’s competition she fought Singapore’s Nona Yean Hong Lim in the final.
And after a desperately close contest, Hutchison came out the winner 10-9, with a great attack to take the title.
She was also part of the victorious England woman’s team.
Hutchison, coached at Bath and Taunton by Blade’s coach Nat Lewis, already has three world, one European, and three Commonwealth titles.
She is Britain’s most successful woman sabreur ever – and her talents show no sign of fading.
