THE Children’s Hospice South-West benefitted by almost £2,000 as a result of the Taunton & District League’s annual short mat triples competition at Blackbrook.
A total of 61 teams from around Somerset and Dorset took part in the round-robin section of the competition during the morning.
The winners of each of the 16 groups went through to the knock-out stages of the main game while the runners-up progressed to the Plate competition.
About £700 was raised on the day and and was supplement by other donations including a cheque for £1,45 from Bradford-on-Tone, who once again took the trophy for ‘Most Monies Raised for the Hospice’.
