SOMERSET chiefs face a dilemma over the club's overseas player for next season.
Australians Justin Langer and Cameron White have been outstanding this season but, under new rules, only one will be allowed to play in 2008.
Somerset skipper Langer has publicly stated his desire to stay but White's intentions are not yet known.
The decision could be made easier if White, who joined up with an Australia training squad this week, is selected to play more international cricket next year.
Somerset chief executive Richard Gould said: "We have been very pleased with the way that both of our overseas players have performed this year.
"Only being allowed one will present us with a very difficult decision because any of the first class county clubs would be only too happy to have Justin Langer or Cameron White on their staff."
Brian Rose, the club's director of cricket, added: "Justin Langer has already publicly stated that he wants to come back and play for Somerset again in 2008.
"He is enjoying his cricket with Somerset and has been making positive noises. We have got to talk to Cameron and find out what his intentions are. We expect to make an official announcement regarding this issue in the next 14 days."
ON Sunday, Somerset travel to Colwyn Bay in North Wales to take on Glamorgan in the Division Two of the Pro40 competition.
The Cidermen take on the same opposition in the Championship at Cardiff on Wednesday.
