TAUNTON Town's winless pre-season record remained intact as they went down 2-1 at home to Chasetown on Saturday.
The visitors, who play at the same level as Taunton, took the lead on 35 minutes through Paul McMahon but the hosts levelled six minutes later through Australian striker Darren Stone.
Taunton were on level terms for just one minute with McMahon restoring his side's advantage which they held.
To make matters worse, Taunton picked up a number of niggling injuries, including one to keeper Ian Jones who suffered a dead leg but was forced to continue.
It is the last thing manager Gary Domone wanted with the season starting this Saturday when Taunton travel to face Slough Town in Division One (S&W) of the BGB Southern League.
Domone has lost a number of last season squad, who almost won promotion to the Premier Division, and has been forced to make a number of pre-season signings.
Taunton complete their pre-season programme tonight (Monday) when they entertain a Bristol Rovers XI.
Meanwhile, midfielder Ronnie Mowatt has been allowed to leave Taunton and has joined Toolstation League side Bristol Manor Farm. However, Mowatt, who has been at Taunton for two seasons, will still be eligible to play for the club.
