THE Seniors’ Don Burns Silver Salver at Vivary Golf Club was won by Keith Parker and John Fisher.
The greensome competition attracted a good field with 60.0 the best nett score.
Second, with 61.4, were Colin Woodford and Glyn Ward, and Ken Tomlinson and Dave Hawkins (62.4) were third.
Nigel Griffin and Pete Jeffery both scored 39 points in the Jack Charlton Stableford but Griffin took it on countback; third was John Blissitt on 36.
The Barrett and Canniford Stableford was full of mediocre scores, apart from Steve Baker’s 37 points.
Mike Gough came second with 33 and Nigel Griffin third on 31 points.
The April Medal and first Eclectic saw Dave Thomas win with an under-par 64.
Keith Parker was second with 65 and Rod Hobson (67) came third.
The rain-hit May Medal was won by John Blissitt with 70, ahead of Pete Jeffery (72) and Charles Hall (74).
Steve Baker won the St. George’s Stableford with 37 points; Steve Berry was second and Chris Stone third.
SEVERAL Senior Members from Oake Manor played in the Minehead & West Somerset Golf Clubs Seniors Open and the winner, with a great score of 38 points, was Howard Spear.
Stuart Coleman won Division 1 of the Men’s Friday Stableford Competition, scoring 38 points, John Malden was second, also with 38 points, James Ward (34) came third and Simon Malloy (34) was fourth.
Simon Woodgate won Division 2 with 44 points, Nick Putt (37) came second, George Wagstaff (35) was third and Matthew Gray (34) fourth.
In the Men’s Sunday Medal, Robert Wright won Division 1 with nett 68, Michael Tourle was second with nett 71, Thomas Bordier (nett 72) third and Darren Kneeshaw(nett 72) fourth.
Darren Willes won Division 2 with nett 65, Alan Christian came second (also nett 65), Chris Pratt was third (nett 66) and Carl Puzey fourth (nett 67).
Richard Maslen won the Wednesday Midweek Stableford, scoring 36 points, Christopher Hayfield was second (35 points), Kobe Adams third and Jason Brock fourth, both also on 35 points.
Suzanne Reed won the Ladies Sunday Medal with nett 73, Natalie Lawrence came second with nett 74 and Kathy Salway third on nett 78.
In the Tuesday Senior Ladies Trophy Nancy Marshall won Division 1 with 34 points, Pam Akers (33) was second, Suzanne Reed (33) third and Alison Harman (32) fourth.
Rachel Hughes won Division 2 with 33 points, Karen Potter was second with 32, Sheila Grant (32) third and Pat Snelling (30) fourth.
TAUNTON & Pickeridge Ladies took part in the Foundation Brooch Medal on Tuesday, at the end of which Caroline Cooper won in the Silver Division with nett 68.
Ali McGown claimed second spot with 71, while two players returned 73; after countback Gill Shire was third and Mary Guy fourth.
In the Bronze Division, Marlene Ewens was the winner but only after countback, as both she and Sheila Beresford returned nett 74.
Vicky Davies was third on 75, ahead of Heather Crump on countback.
In the 9-hole contest, Liz Reeve won, with Anne Watson pipping Maureen Hailes for second on countback.
On Sunday, the Hewlett Mixed Greensomes, a Ladies’ Invitational, saw 24 pairs enjoy the sunny conditions and a two-course meal.
The winners, with 41 points, were Marion Mittermaier and Paddy Farrell, second went to Jane Ledsham and Norman Llewellyn (40), as Marlene Ewens and Tony Dowsett (39) were third on countback ahead of Jeanne Leader and David Powell.
The Junior Section at T&P is now in full swing, and Saturday’s Short Game Challenge was won by Charlie Hooper with 44 points.
Monday’s Tony Churchill Medal was won by Freddie Elgin with nett 70, two ahead of runner-up Dillon Watts.
