Tooolstation League Division 1: Minehead 3, Elmore 1.
MINEHEAD made it two victories from two with a spirited display against Elmore in their opening home game on Wednesday night.
The hosts flew out of the blocks and went in front after just three minutes when Steffan Phillips scored from the penalty spot after Micky Burns had been fouled.
Elmore levelled through Andy Rollason before half time and would have fancied their chances of taking all three points when Minehead were reduced to ten men on 60 minutes - Dave Gelby receiving a second yellow card.
But the Blues showed bags of character and actually dominated the remainder of the game.
They deservedly took the lead through Micky Burns and sealed victory with Luke Taylor's fine individual effort.
On Saturday, Minhead entertain Harrow Hill in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup. Micky Burns is unavailable as he is attending trials for the England Schoolboy side.
