TAUNTON Town manager Gary Domone is desperate for his side to improve on last season's poor home form as they approach two games in three days at Wordsworth Drive.

On Saturday, they take on Oxford City and on Bank Holiday Monday, Thatcham Town are the visitors.

Taunton managed to finish fourth last season, despite only picking up 35 out of a possible 63 points at Wordsworth Drive something Domone is keen to put right.

He said: "It's very important we improve on our home record.

"We need to pick up every point we can at home and our supporters deserve some better results at Wordsworth Drive.

"The pitch didn't suit our style of play last year but it has been relaid and looks great, which should allow us to pass the ball much better."

Meanwhile, Domone is refusing to get carried away with the opening day victory.

He said: "It was a good win and lifted everyone's spirit but I still expect it to be a long, hard season for us.

"One major plus is the spirit and togetherness at the club and in the dressing room which serve us well."

Darren Stone and Martin White are both unavailable for Saturday's visit of Oxford.

WELLINGTON play their fourth away game of the season on Saturday when they make the long trip to face Bradford Town in Division One of Toolstation League.

MINEHEAD are home to relegated Keynsham Town on Saturday and travel to play Clevedon Utd next Wednesday.
