IT was a mixed weekend for Minehead Barbarians, with their 1st XV claiming a 33-28 win over Nailsea & Backwell.
Visitors Nailsea sit second in the league, but they came unstuck in the wet conditions at Ellicombe Lane.
Sam Chinn led the way for the Barbarians, winning the man of the match award.
Minehead 2nds were beaten 47-7 by Taunton 3rds, the Wanderers 42-0 up at half time.
The hosts were much more competitive in the second half, but the gap was too great for them to make up.
Minehead Barbarians Ladies were also at home last Saturday, and they celebrated a 31-12 win over Bideford.
