YEOVIL Town's FA Cup tie at Haringey Borough was abandoned on Saturday afternoon after the home team left the field following alleged racist abuse by Glovers fans.
The incident occured in the 64th minute of the fourth qualifying round match at Haringey's Coles Park Stadium after Yeovil were awarded a penalty.
Rhys Murphy scored it to put the Glovers 1-0 up but Haringey then left the field after reports of bottles being thrown and abuse being issued by a section of the Yeovil support.
Haringey goalkeeper Valery Douglas Pajetat was allegedly spat at and hit by an object while defender Coby Rowe was "racially abused", according to manager Tom Loizou.
Yeovil's players joined their hosts in leaving the field and the match was abandoned.
Loizou told BBC Radio 5Live: "It's very distressing. The abuse a few of my players got was disgusting.
"Yeovil's players and manager were different class. Their team tried to calm their supporters down, they tried their best and they supported us - they said 'if you're walking off we're walking off with you'.
"I took the decision to take my team off and I don't want Yeovil Town to get punished for it.
"If we get thrown out of the FA Cup and they go through, there is no hard feelings there.
"I have not done it for any other reason than looking into my players' faces and seeing how distraught they were. They are not used to this."
Yeovil boss Darren Sarll said: "On behalf of Yeovil Town, we fully support Haringey and we stand together.
"The players and I decided we'd support [Haringey] and make a stand together, and be stronger with togetherness.
"I want Haringey and our football club to know we don't condone anything of that nature, if there was anything of that nature."
A Yeovil Town statement said: "Yeovil Town FC will be cooperating with the authorities and our friends at Haringey Borough FC regarding events leading up to today’s fixture not being completed.
"We are aware that there are allegations that racist comments were made in the crowd and this allegation will be a key part of any investigation.
"Irrespective of the outcome of any investigations, we would like to make it clear that the club will not accept racism or discrimination in any form.
"The club will be making no further comment until the current investigations are completed."

Game has been abandoned following racial abuse. Horrendous afternoon.
It must be said that 99.9% of @YTFC fans are also disgusted by what’s happened as much as we are.
One club, one community.

We would also like to offer our full support to Douglas and all at Haringey Borough FC.
