TAUNTON Deane Cricket Club have snapped up Somerset seamer Jack Brooks as they prepare for life back in the West of England Premier Cricket League's top tier.
The Deane were promoted in 2019 after winning the Premier 2 Bristol/Somerset title and have now bolstered their bowling ranks with the addition of two-time County Championship winner Brooks.
The 35-year-old took 25 Division One wickets for Somerset last summer and joins his county teammates Roelof van der Merwe and Jack Leach in the Deane ranks.
Leach grew up playing for the Deane and last summer turned out for the club's first XI at North Perrott in between Test matches for England.
In all, Brooks - formerly of Yorkshire and Northamptonshire - has taken 462 First Class wickets at 27.33 and also has a First Class century to his name with the bat.
Only Bedminster and Chippenham claimed more league bowling points across the WEPL divisions than Taunton Deane last season and the addition of Brooks, who will turn out when his Somerset commitments allow, will only enhance an already potent attack.
Cheers for all the good folk who got in touch! Much appreciated! Joining up with @jackleach1991 & @Roela52 for @tauntondeanecc 👍🏼 Can walk home after a match & a coupla jars🙌🏼 https://t.co/SZfHrZnF7w
