TRULL Cricket Club stalwart Dave ‘Shakey’ James has passed away, following a long illness.
James dedicated more than 15 years of his life to Trull CC, following 10 years at Tone Youth Football Club - raising huge amounts of money for both clubs.
Trull CC tweeted the news last Friday evening, saying: “Today is a sad day for the club."

Last month Richard Lines - chairman and head groundsman at Trull CC - told the County Gazette: "He’s a big man with a big heart, and the club will always be indebted to him.”
Tone Youth FC also paid tribute to a man well known in the local sporting community for his dedication and passion.
All at the club are saddened to hear that today we lost a true club Legend, Dave James. He gave so much to the club for over 10yrs and will be sadly missed by all. Our thoughts are with his family R.I.P Shakey 🐝🖤💛

James' illness did not stop him organising a charity football match between Tone and Trull, which took place at the Wyvern Club in the autumn of last year.
Around 200 people attended, and the event raised just under £6,000 for Action Bladder Cancer UK.
