THIS afternoon brings the final round of matches in the 2020 West of England Premier League season, and as many as three teams could finish as winners (or, most likely, joint winners) of Covid Group C.
Bridgwater, Taunton, Taunton Deane and Taunton St Andrews are all tied on eight points going into the last round of matches, including a clash between Taunton and Taunton St Andrews at Gipsy Lane.
Saints kept themselves in the title hunt with a five-wicket win at Wellington on Saturday, while Taunton picked up a 113-run victory over Wembdon.
Those results mean that the winner of today's match at Gipsy Lane will finish top of the group, possibly alongside Bridgwater - if they beat Minehead - and Taunton Deane - if they defeat Wembdon.
The Deane stayed in the picture, while ending Minehead’s hopes, with a 31-run win in West Somerset last Saturday, while Bridgwater defeated the bottom side in the group, Weston-super-Mare,
North Perrott will win Covid Group D with victory at Staplegrove this afternoon, as they lead the table by one point from Bridgwater 2nd XI going into the final round of games.
The other games see Bridgwater 2nds entertain Shapwick & Polden, third-placed Chard host neighbours Ilminster and Taunton St Andrews 2nds play at home to Street.
