SPIN bowler Jack Leach returns to action for the first time since playing for England against India, as Somerset name a strong squad for their final pre-season match ahead of the 2021 county cricket season.
Somerset welcome Glamorgan to the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, for a three-day match that runs from Friday, April 2 to Sunday, April 4.
Following the three-wicket win against Worcestershire, head coach Jason Kerr indicated that the squad for the Glamorgan match would be close to that which travels to Middlesex for the LV= Insurance County Championship opener (April 8-11).
So while youngsters Sonny Baker, Jamie Baird, Lewis Goldsworthy and Ned Leonard all impressed against Worcestershire, it's a more experienced squad that is preparing to take on Glamorgan tomorrow.
As well as Leach getting his first taste of pre-season, there are also recalls for Marchant de Lange, James Hildreth and Craig Overton.
There's no Steve Davies, though, so the wicketkeeping berth looks to be going to either Tom Banton or 17-year-old Academy player James Rew, who plays his club cricket for Taunton St Andrews.
Somerset squad: Tom Abell (c), George Bartlett, Tom Banton, Jack Brooks, Eddie Byrom, Josh Davey, Marchant de Lange, Lewis Gregory, James Hildreth, Tom Lammonby, Jack Leach, Craig Overton and James Rew.
Tomorrow's play will begin at noon, then at 11am on days two and three (Saturday and Sunday), and Somerset fans will be able to watch the action via the club's live streaming service.
